# Code Review Request: Dingo Transpiler - Four New Language Features

## Project Context

Dingo is a meta-language for Go (similar to TypeScript for JavaScript) that transpiles .dingo files to idiomatic .go files. The project emphasizes:
- Zero runtime overhead - generates clean Go code
- Full Go ecosystem compatibility
- Readable, hand-written-quality output
- Configuration-driven behavior

## Features Implemented

This review covers four new language features recently implemented:

1. **Safe Navigation Operator (?.)** - Nil-safe field access with smart/always-Option modes
2. **Null Coalescing Operator (??)** - Works with Option<T> and optionally Go pointers (*T)
3. **Ternary Operator (? :)** - Standard/explicit precedence modes
4. **Lambda Functions** - Rust-style |x| expr and Arrow-style (x) => expr

## Configuration System

All features are controlled by a new configuration system (dingo.toml):
- lambda_syntax: "rust" | "arrow" | "both"
- safe_navigation_unwrap: "always_option" | "smart"
- null_coalescing_pointers: boolean
- operator_precedence: "standard" | "explicit"

## Review Criteria

Please evaluate the implementation on:

### 1. Correctness
- Do the transformations correctly implement the feature specifications?
- Are edge cases handled properly (nil values, chaining, type mismatches)?
- Does configuration switching work correctly?

### 2. Go Best Practices
- Does the code follow Go idioms and conventions?
- Are error handling patterns idiomatic?
- Is the use of go/ast appropriate?
- Are there any reinventions of standard library functionality?

### 3. Code Quality
- Is the code simple and readable?
- Are function responsibilities clear and focused?
- Is naming self-documenting?
- Are there unnecessary abstractions or complexity?

### 4. Architecture
- Does the plugin architecture make sense?
- Is the configuration system well-designed?
- Are plugins properly decoupled?
- Is the AST design appropriate?

### 5. Type Safety & IIFE Pattern
- Is the IIFE (Immediately-Invoked Function Expression) pattern used correctly?
- Are type inference hooks in place (even if not fully implemented)?
- Does the code prepare for future go/types integration?

### 6. Testability
- Are the implementations testable?
- Are dependencies properly managed?
- Can plugins be tested in isolation?

### 7. Known Limitations
The implementation notes these limitations:
- Parser integration incomplete (lexer/grammar not updated)
- Type inference basic (needs go/types integration)
- Precedence checking prepared but not enforced
- Arrow lambda syntax prepared but not parsed

Are these limitations acceptable for this iteration, or do they pose risks?

## Output Format

Please provide your review structured as:

### CRITICAL Issues
Issues that must be fixed before merging (correctness, bugs, major design flaws)

### IMPORTANT Issues
Issues that should be addressed (maintainability, best practices, missing validations)

### MINOR Issues
Nice-to-haves (style, naming, minor optimizations)

### STRENGTHS
What the code does well

### RECOMMENDATIONS
Specific actionable improvements with code examples where helpful

## Key Implementation Details

### Transformation Strategy
All operators use IIFE pattern for expression-level transformations:
- user?.name → func() T { if user != nil { return user.Name }; return nil }()
- opt ?? default → func() T { if opt.IsSome() { return opt.Unwrap() }; return default }()

### Configuration Access
Plugins access config through ctx.DingoConfig:
```go
if cfg, ok := ctx.DingoConfig.(*config.Config); ok {
    mode := cfg.Features.SafeNavigationUnwrap
}
```

Please review the implementation with these Go transpiler requirements in mind. Focus on correctness, maintainability, and Go best practices.
